Wonderful Christmas!

I don't have alot to say, except that I had such a wonderful Christmas this year.  What made it wonderful was not the presents, cards and candy... but instead the quality time I had with my family remembering Christ's birth.  To start out this wonderful Holiday weekend I spent Christmas eve night with my parents! It was awesome!! We got Chinese food and watched a lifetime Christmas movie... which is two of my favorite things :) . Then we watched the Mo-Tab sings some songs on a dvd we had, and then after that we watched a movie called "The Nativity Story" which we own, but never watched.
It was a really good movie, and a wonderful reminder of what happened so long ago.  I liked it because it goes deeper in depth of how Mary being pregnant at that time was not culturally acceptable and what a hardship the people of the land were going through.  It helped me to realize all the hardships that came along with Jesus's birth, which really made it the humblest of circumstances.  Mostly it helped me to remember the details I had forgotten.

it looks way better on me :)
The next part of my wonderful Christmas weekend was Christmas day. My parents and I woke up(they got dressed and I stayed in my PJs :) ), and opened our stockings. I even got the traditional stairs picture we use to always take. Then had a yummy breakfast of caramel/orange rolls and crepe type omelets... way good ps.  We opened our presents and I got this way cool animal print trench-coat with awesome turquoise buttons. I also got a warm/pink blanket for my bed, and a few other really neat things like boots!!

Then to make the day super fun, my mom got the game Just dance 2. I really thought people were lying when they said it was fun, but I actually had a really good time playing. Talk about a workout! I figure if I do that everyday, I'll be in good shape. I got to play it several times through the day with my family members.  Brittany kicked my trash, and it was funny to watch Julie and dad dance to the bollywood duet song. Oh it was a hoot! It really made me grateful to have such a wonderful family. It was so awesome to see all my siblings during this week. Lets just hope I do not get sick with all the illness running around the fam! (knock on wood!) Well I'm not sure what else to say except... Merry Christmas!! We'll see you in the new year!! I hope its a good one!!

Newest photography project!

So for my class, I had to take and edit a picture, then print it and put it in a 36bx24 frame.  The first temple photo is the one I actually turned in and framed. They will hopefully put it up in the spori as part of the art display!! So if you are in Rexburg, be sure to go check out, but only this week will it be up! Then the second picture, I think it looks really cool, but it looked pixelated when I zoomed into full size.  Anyway it was a fun project, and I hope you enjoy.
To see more of my photography, be sure to check out my other blog:

Not again!

I've neglected my blog again!! Oh goodness!! Like that never happens lol!! Well a lot has happen! well I'll start from the begining...

On December 25, 2009 we got a new baby in the family, we affectionately call her The Babe! What a cutie!
So after the babe was born I went and spent the week at Melissa's house and played "the nanny" it was so fun, I love being an Aunt!

Then school started- Wahoo! It is my 4th year at BYU-Idaho... but I won't graduate for another Year... Oh well!
Here is a picture of me and my roommates... and a random kid named Brady that snuck into our picture!

(From left to right): Diane, Michelle, Melanie, Janelle, Ashley, and me of course! :)

So before school even started, the Bishop called me and I received the calling of Ward directory specialist: So here is sweet picture I took of my bishopric!! :)

Brother Moss, Bishop Taylor, and Brother Herbert! They are the greatest!
So moving on... A few weeks into school, I was working on some homework when I heard some panicked voices coming from the family room.  Then I heard "well don't rush in and worry Katie" then some of my roommates came and told me that there was a fire next door.  Then a Fireman came in and told us that we needed to leave our apartment just in case the fire spread. So I grabbed my coat and my laptop(my baby), and joined the other freezing, yet curious girls outside.
Apparently one of the girls was making onion rings and some how started a grease fire.
Here is a picture of one of the many emergency trucks that squeezed into our small parking lot:

Mister firetruck!
Then for weeks after that we had many visits from the restoration guys as they cleaned up all the smoke damage! It was so bad, you could see black marks coming clear out the front door! They ended melting their oven... so they got a new one. Here is a picture of the melted oven in the back of a truck (yes I did take the picture through the blinds... I was trying not to be a weirdo... oops):

(my creeping experience: I'm sure they could see me... oh well!)
So this semester I am taking a Field Biology Class. Its once a week, and we go on field trips almost every class (hence the name of the class) His tests are killer, but there are many fun people in the class.  On our first field trip we went to a riparian habitat (Beaver Dick park) which is basically a habitat that is depend on its water source. One of these dependents is a porcupine.  So my professor told us to go out and look for the native porcupine, and who ever found it didn't have to write the paper on it.  Here is the picture of our (dead) porcupine friend:

he's kind of stiff, and missing part of his insides... but still porcupine! :)
The sad part (besides that he was dead) was that I didn't find him, so I still had to write my paper.
Next are some pictures of me wearing some snow shoes on our next trip to look at lodge pole pines in Island park. We pulled right off the side of the road, strapped on our snow shoes and were on our way, up hill and down hill and ever ran across the highway with with the snow shoes on:

I've never been before, but it was a blast!
Last is a picture of what is left of the Teton Dam that I took with my phone, on one of our field trips:

Well I'm not sure what else to say! So I'll post some more later!! I hope everyone has a good week!
